Endive and Escarole are different forms of the same plant. Endive has curly or crinkly-edged leaves and a sharp, almost bitter taste. For spring planting, sow as soon as the soil can be worked. For a winter garden, sow about 2 months before the first frost.Stagger your plantings about 2 week apart for continous harvesting. Plant 1/4" deep about 12" apart.
